Taking a page out of such food and film innovations as Brooklyn’s Nitehawk Cinema, Carbon Arc blends the best of both. Opened with the unveiling of the renovated Davis Theater next door, the food and drink menu here has both depth and breadth: artisanal popcorn for that good old-fashioned movie experience? Check. How about some Thai mussels, Baja fish tacos or maybe some fried chicken and “wiscuit”? They’ve also got a cocktail menu of an impressive variety and a completely separate brunch menu, including a generous selection of “breakfast beers” and bottomless mimosas. All prepared savory and delicious, and served conveniently right next door to the cinema for either those necessary warm-up drinks or theater experience post-mortem. Either way, it’s a delightful new way to gather.
