Given painstaking months of a grueling fundraising campaign, the Dill Pickle Co-Op is finally open at its new and expanded location. Never mind that the store manager is Newcity dance editor Sharon Hoyer, the accomplishment is considerable by any standard. it’s worth recognizing that the community-owned model can work. It not only works, but works well enough to drive a multi-million-dollar extension into the community, allowing the Dill Pickle to serve an even larger share of its neighbors.
