Hard to imagine that at one time the city seriously considered knocking down the Chicago Cultural Center to make way for something better. (As if that would be possible.) Housed within the former Chicago Public Library is the ornate and beautifully restored Tiffany Dome, the largest in the world, which cannot be fully appreciated without lying on one’s back and looking upwards.
