George Booker’s Lobby Mural at the Music Box Theatre
Painted at the Music Box around the same time as the erection of a freshly appointed new marquee, the Music Box enlisted artist George Booker to apply Gene Siskel’s encomium from a 1991 blurb from the earliest days of Entertainment Weekly: “A significant Chicago cultural attraction, a showcase for progressive filmmaking at a time when American movie theaters are as homogenized as the films they exhibit.”
