Mariano’s Bronzeville
When it opened last year, its claim to fame was that it was by square footage supposed to be the largest Mariano’s. But what it has turned into—usually between 3pm-7pm—is the best social meeting place in Bronzeville since Poor Woods shut down the upstairs bar on 35th Street. The bar area, where wine and other adult beverages are served, is beautifully loud and local. It’s black Chicago Facebook come to life. Grocery shopping should not be this fun.
