Proxi
Street food is trending in Chicago restaurants, and one of the most accomplished practitioners of this vogue is Proxi. Located in proximity to Sepia (get it?), Andrew Zimmerman’s other restaurant, Proxi offers high-end versions of street treats such as bhel puri, a snack of puffed rice and herbs hailing from Mumbai, and tempura elotes, a battered and fried version of Mexican corn with mayo and spices. It’s all good, if about a hundred times more expensive than the original street versions.
