Attend the Humanities Festival
2017 has been a dismal circus of political buffoonery, natural disasters and literal Nazis. Thank goodness for the Chicago Humanities Festival, bringing brilliant minds from around the world to elucidate and illuminate on this year’s theme: belief. Speakers include Al Gore and Brooke Gladstone and literary powerhouses like Ta-Nehisi Coates, Marilynne Robinson, Edwidge Danticat, Claire Messud and Colson Whitehead. With subjects ranging from civil rights to religion, it’s just the sustained event to recharge our collective faith in humanity.
