EXPO Chicago
EXPO Chicago week is the art scene’s busiest time for collectors, dealers, enthusiasts and visitors alike. They agree on one thing: we’re all stretched too thin and no matter how much we’d love to be a part of the gallery openings, art parties and day-after brunches, we cannot possibly be in more than one place at the same time. How can we make the most of the offerings of more than a hundred international galleries from across the world and the extensive programming, performances and events around Chicago? Enter the fair’s complimentary shuttle service: an oasis of comfortable seating and bottled water, free wifi and chargers for the phone that’s on the verge of burning down from all the art pictures you took. The shuttle operates with a friendly staff, to and from the fair’s grounds at Navy Pier, between the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) and the West Loop art district. After hours of walking from booth to booth carrying heavyweight catalogues, it’s an ideal opportunity to sit back and relax before the next destination. (Vasia Rigou)
