Whether it’s the all-day media blanket of the NFL or the Big Ten young alums and their cinnamon-flavored whiskey, sometimes you need an escape from pigskin season that doesn’t involve you just sitting around your house listening to NPR. Belly up to one of the better craft-beer bars at the Long Room, which is flatscreen-free (although not pretentious about it). If there’s a better hangover killer than the en suite Biscuit Man’s egg-cheddar-bacon offering, we haven’t found it. (John Carruthers)
