The new-ish Bowmanville mothership of beloved local brewery Half Acre features a rotating seasonal menu of large and small plates that pair perfectly with their array of available beers. Salt cod brandade is a solid groove alongside a super-fresh pint, and the porchetta sandwich is the perfect base for an evening session. The cheese plate is always on point. It’s as far removed as is imaginable from the Sysco-burger-and-a-pint paradigm. Craft beer’s come a long way, and Half Acre drives that point home. (John Carruthers)
