Chicago Gourmet has long been the crown jewel of food events, but let’s face it, the ticket prices are in that “special occasion” range. So what’s a frugal, fall-loving foodie to do? Allow me to suggest the Fulton Market Harvest Fest. Born out of love for the burgeoning neighborhood and curated by Chicago sweetheart chef Stephanie Izard, this fest showcases incredible West Loop restaurants as well as providing locals an opportunity to enjoy cooking demos by the country’s best chefs. For a $10 donation to Pilot Light, it’s a well-spent weekend. (Lauren Knight)
