Vichcraft
Vichcraft is the brainchild of independent graphic designer and artist Jenna Blazevich. She collaborates with small businesses and world-renowned brands—think Airbnb, Hillary for America, NPR, the Washington Post, the Atlantic, Instagram, Babes Ride Out, Vans, Nike and Luna Bar—and has won multiple awards. You might know her from her collection of activist-driven, feminism-inspired outspoken slogans: “Girls to the Front,” “Before, I was not a witch. But now I am one,” and “Nolite Te Bastardes Carborundorum” (Don’t Let the Bastards Grind You Down), which she hand-embroiders onto the back of denim jackets or applies to pretty much anything—from prints and patches, to bandanas and tote bags, to mugs and other branded materials. Find her at the Vichcraft shop and studio, a space that holds events, classes and workshops—embroidery, calligraphy and more—or around the city: she’s probably busy packing up her eighty-year-old Cornely machine to hit a chain-stitching event or to set up a pop-up shop at Chicago’s craft fairs and markets.
