Garfield Park Conservatory
Winters can be difficult, that’s all I’m going to say. But a long-ish ride on the Green Line to the Garfield Park Conservatory on the far West Side of the city can be a refreshing, much-needed antidote to the bad mood cold weather can put you in. This free attraction not only houses plants and weather conditions from around the world, from deserts to tropical rain forests, but also makes a versatile attraction as it provides the perfect opportunity for a cute date, a family trip—there’s a fun play area for children—or even a solo adventure. The park offers parking in case you skip the CTA and drive. (Manisha AR)
