Baconfest
There is nowhere in Chicago to get a better whiff of fatted pork belly, sizzling, than at Baconfest each springtime at UIC Pavillion. Hundreds of Chicago chefs prepare bacon in new ways, some flops, but most fantastic. Seeing thousands of people gathering to pay homage to the meat of the gods reaffirms one’s sense of humanity.
