Center on Halsted

Located in Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood, Center on Halsted is the largest LGBTQ community center in the Midwest. It’s a place of gatherings and parties, workshops, events and art exhibitions. Chill in the lobby reading your favorite free press, find quiet time at the center’s library or have a refreshing beverage at the rooftop terrace while the weather is still warm. Also oheck out their frequent LGBTQ artists gallery openings, cooking classes, their signature annual Santa Speedo Run right before Christmas or their Oscars-watching party that’s been a staple for over a decade. To ensure the health and well-being of the LGBTQ community, the Center on Halsted offers mental health counseling, group therapy, clinical services for HIV/AIDS and STD testing and an anti-violence project to help survivors deal with issues of discrimination, bullying and sexual assault.
